This weekends Let’s Go Outside Activities

GEDC0052This weekend is the second weekend of the Let’s Go Outside programme organised by Tamworth Borough Council.  The Let’s Go Outside programme is a series of event in the town centre at the weekend.

The event, which is sponsored by Ankerside Shopping Centre extends the traditional bandstand programme to incorporate the canopy and Castle Grounds.  Events throughout the summer include Orienteering, Salsa Dances, and much much more.

This weekends events are:-

Saturday 18th July: Melborune Band 1 – 4pm – Bandstand

From Derbyshire the Melborune Band bring their great sound to the Bandstand. The bands ethos has always been family and friends “playing” together. They pride themselves on the ability to nurture musical talent whether the player is young or not so young.

Saturday 18th July: Salsa – Canopy

Fancy learning to dance Salsa but don’t know where to go? As part of the Let’s Go Outside Programme the www.salsaspeople.com group will be performing under the canopy. First of all, there will be a show dance involving 12 members of www.salsaspeople.com dance company, all of the show dancers have been picked from students that attend our classes, they are everyday people that have just taken learning to dance Salsa with the group to an extra level.

Sunday 18th July: Central England Band 1 – 4pm – Bandstand

The band is made up of members from all walks of life but with one aim in common; that of making and enjoying music. We play a wide range of music, from classical to marches, through to film and stage music and other selections. Programme for 19th July will include: I Will Survive, Gonna Fly Now, Curtain at Eight, Fiddler on the Roof, Barnard’s Castle, Is This The Way To Amarillo and many more.
