Assault in the Kerria leaves man in hospital

An assault which took place yesterday (Wednesday July 22) has left a 33 year-old man in hospital.
The attack which happened in a garden in the Kerria area of the town is the latest in a string of violent events in the town in the past few weeks.
Police believe that three offenders, all male, first approached the 33-year old man, followed him into the garden then assaulted him. They then quickly made off across the nearby Kerria car park.
The victim which is currently unnamed was taken to Burton’s Queen’s Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
Police have carried out house to house enquiries around the Kerria area and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.

Middleton Lakes – Guided Tours

Continuing the summer season, the RSPB at Middleton Lakes are again this weekend inviting those who wish to see the nature reserve in it’s infancy the chance to have a guided tour of the site.
This Saturday July 25 between 11am and 1pm you are invited to join one of their experienced guides for the tour of the lakes and surrounding areas. Whilst seeing the nature spot and wildlife first hand, you will also be able to see the work going on at Middleton Lakes to create another beauty spot in the area.
The walks are free but it is essential that you book your place. You can do this by either calling the RSPB on 01827 259454 or emailing them at middletonlakes@rspb.org.uk.
The next guided walk around the lakes is late August (23 August)
