Double Yellow lines the answer to Dosthill traffic madness?

Christopher Pincher with County Councillor Lee Bates and Dosthill resident Harry Poultney outside Dosthill Primary School.
Are Double Yellow lines the answer to the traffic madness that blights the Dosthill area on a daily basis on Dosthill High Street.
The notorious traffic blackspot has been bought to the attention of the new Staffordshire County Council and now the County’s Highways Department are working with local residents to find a solution to the issue around the local primary school.
The County Council are now proposing the introduction of double yellow lines along the stretch of road, on both sides by Dosthill Primary School. Both County Councillor Bates and Christopher Pincher are appealing for residents views on whether this will solve their issues.
Councillor Bates said:
“I am keen to work to try to solve this ongoing issue and the proposal of yellow lines on the High Street has been put forward as a possible solution. We want to be sure that residents will be happy with this before the traffic restriction order is written by Highways Department.”
Conservative Parliamentary Spokesman Christopher Pincher said:
“Cars parking on both sides of this busy thoroughfare presents a hazard for local residents as well as young children walking to and from school. Clearly action needs to be taken to reduce the hazard but I want to make sure the County consults residents, parents and teachers before it moves. We need their backing first.”
Dosthill residents are being urged to put their views forward to Councillor Bates, they can mail their views through to lee.bates@staffordshire.gov.uk with both feedback and comments.
