Tamworth Borough Council have suspended Garden and Food Waste bin collections until further notice because of safety fears.

With the recent cold snap (Ok, it’s more of a stupidly cold month than a snap), the side of roads of Tamworth have become ice rinks and dangerous.

It is hoped that they will still be able to carry out Recycling across those areas due a collection, and with the additional teams helping, it is hoped they can clear the back log, although this will be addressed first thing tomorrow (Thursday Jan 7) on whether these collections can take place.

Weather over night is set to get well below zero with temperatures already below -5 C at 6.30pm this evening.  Be sure that if you must travel to travel safely.
